How did he come into your life?
My mother got Mack’s sister Maisey, from Pinwheel Acres. A few months later Pinwheel Acres shared that a puppy had been returned and was in need of a home. That puppy was Mack, he was five months and my husband and I jumped on the opportunity to provide a safe and loving home for Maisey’s brother. That is how Mack came into our lives.
Significance of his name, if any:
Growing up all of my Springers names started with an M. That was a must for Mack as well. We were going through names that start with M and we both like the name Mack. Funny fact: His name when he came to us was Mr. Cheesy, so Mack and Cheese go well together, don’t they?
Favorite treat:
Carrots!
Most memorable thing your pet has ever done:
One day we were watching a TV show together. Mack was watching with us and soon a song started. He began howling with the music. To this day when he hears certain tones he “sings” for us.
Funny or unusual habit:
When the sun is shining into a room, or a light casts a shadow on the wall, Mack tries everything he can to catch the shadow. This can entertain him for hours. He will also bark at them. One thing is for sure, we are very safe from any shadows in our home. Mack the Shadow Chaser is always on duty.
If your pet had a job/profession, what would it be?
Mack would definitely be a nanny, he is amazing with children. When our nieces and nephews are over Mack spends all of his time walking around the house checking in on each child. Mack enjoys playing with all of them and does his best to spread his time equally. He has a perfect balance of playing when it is time to play and laying down and resting with them when they are tired. He is very in tune to their needs.
If your pet could speak one sentence out loud, what would he say?
“Is it time to play?”
