How did he come into your life?
I fostered him for a month, but when the shelter reduced his adoption fee to $0, I panicked and immediately adopted him! When he was first rescued, he was an anxious pup because he’d been mistreated in his previous environment. I truly appreciate the kindness and gentle care the folks at the clinic provide my boy. Archie is growing into a trusting and loving companion, and I can’t imagine my life without him!
Significance of his name, if any:
I settled on Archie because of his red hair and freckles, like Archie from the Archie and Jughead comics.
A memorable thing about your pet:
Archie has an amazing vertical leap. Once, a low-flying bird almost met it’s demise as Archie jumped and just barely missed it.
Funny or unusual habit:
Archie adores our neighborhood mail carrier. Not only does she say kind words, she also gives delicious treats! Archie goes into full body wiggles whenever he sees a mail truck!
If your pet had a job/profession, what would it be?
Archie would make an excellent guard. He already excels at keeping his backyard squirrel, bird, and chipmunk free.
If your pet could speak one sentence out loud, what would she say?
When I visit Janesville Veterinary Clinic, I get the ‘Archie Schmitz Chill Protocol.’ They make it special just for me, and it’s GREAT! Dr. Allie can do whatever she needs to do, and I just sprawl across her lap and eat cheese. This clinic is the BEST!
