How did he come into your life?
I got him through a friend of a friend at work. She wanted to keep her dog when she moved but not Shadow. She didn’t think he would fair well in the move. I visited him once before I took him. She had never had a cat so didn’t have any toys for him. She had taught him to shake and do high fives. He was so pretty and sweet I had to take him, I couldn’t let him go to the humane society.
Significance of his name, if any:
His name before was Alistaire, which was a cool name but he didn’t answer to it. I named him Shadow, not because he is a black cat, but because he follows me everywhere. He became my Shadow.
Favorite treat:
He loves the Friskies cat treats and I give him soft food as a treat. He loves chicken, turkey, salmon, and corn.
Most memorable thing your pet has ever done:
He likes to cuddle with me in bed almost every night. Sometimes he sleeps on my pillow and other times right next to me.
Funny or unusual habit:
Whenever I have treats he stands on his hind legs. His meows are long and more like he is singing when I have treats. I can throw treats to him and he catches them in his paws. We also play tag. He chases me and then I chase him.
If your pet had a job/profession, what would it be?
Shadow would be a ninja. He knows you can’t see him real well in the dark so he sneeks around and just appears out of nowhere. All you see is glowing green eyes.
If your pet could speak one sentence out loud, what would he say?
”Hey, the kitty is down here, pet me.” When I come home he is waiting at the door sitting pretty. Then he does his little purr meow, puts his tail in the air, and rubs on me.
