Our pet of the month's name is, Charlie (Charles Mufasa)

Age:

10

How did he come into your life?

Charlie was given away to a new forever home with another cat at age 2.  His health had been very neglected by the previous owner. His new loving forever home was short as his owner, my father,  died a few months later. A neighbor decided to take in the cats but after a few months decided he did not want them. I went to pick up Charlie and the other cat and brought them to my home.  The other cat died a few months later but Charlie has been with us for his forever home for 8 years now.

Significance of his name, if any:

Originally his name was Cherrio but my father changed it to Charlie.  When he came into our home a middle name Mufasa was added so his name is Charlie Mufasa.

Favorite treat:

Charlie is very picky and because of his long silky hair he gets canned food every other day to keep it that way.  He only likes fish or seafood flavors for food or treats.

Most memorable thing your pet has ever done:

Charlie is not very social he requires a tricked scooping him up to give him love but he is very loving.  He observes from a distance but when coming home he greets us often at the door with the dog. Charlie has much concern over our other pets.  Usually when the other pets have been into trouble Charlie is always nearby looking at them like “I told you so.”

Funny or unusual habit:

Charlie has toys but he secretly plays with them.  If he is seen playing with his toys he stops and looks at us like he wasn’t playing and it is childish to play.    In the evening Charlie will find the dog and walk really slow past him and repeat until the dog chases him out of the room.  Charlie acts like he doesn’t care about our dog but we know they love each other.

If your pet had a job/profession, what would it be?

He would be a serious business manager.  He would make sure to keep the employees on task in a timely manner.   Charlie has a timed routine of places he naps to when he repeats ME-NOW instead of meow to get fed.   His human workers obey the tasks given because Charlie is kind but persistent.

If your pet could speak one sentence out loud, what would he say?

“You humans need to chill out and go take a nap your always coming and going and don’t take life so seriously.”

Anything else you’d like to share:

Charlie lives with his human family, a dog and two rabbits. Charlie has had many other pet friends in our family and always welcomes the new ones.
