How did she come into your life?
Our family is allergic to animals, but the kids had been begging for a pet! We did some research and found that Bengals are good for people with allergies. We found a litter of kittens for sale in Plover so we drove the two hours to get her on a Thursday night and drove another two hours back home to Janesville.
Significance of her name, if any:
We brought Bella home a few days before Christmas and decided we needed to give her a name appropriate for Christmas. She looked like a sweet Bella when we met her, and it was a name our family of five agreed on, so Bella it was.
Favorite treat:
She loves Orijen Regional Cat Treats, probably because it is made with chicken! She will do tricks, like “sit”, “up” and “lap”. However, her favorite is when you throw the treat and she can run after it. Bella especially loves soft food containing chicken, which she gets every morning and evening. We can say the word “chicken” and she will come running and meowing!
Most memorable thing your pet has ever done:
One Saturday morning we were making pancakes like usual and left the batter on the counter while we heated the skillet on the stove. Before we knew it, Bella jumped on the counter and had her paws in the batter! Not sure what it is about pancake batter, but to this day she watches us like a hawk when we are making pancakes. She is just waiting for us not to watch so she can jump on the counter and get it!
Funny or unusual habit:
Bella loves to take small objects off tables, countertops, or the floor. She is especially fascinated by pens. If she gets one, she will run away with it and try to hide it. She is very fast!!
If your pet had a job/profession, what would it be:
If Bella had a job, she would be an exterminator. If there is a fly or another flying bug in the house, she will leap mid air to knock it down with both paws. It is hysterical to watch! It usually ends in her eating it so that is actually kind of handy.
If your pet could speak one sentence out loud, what would she say?
Put me down…..and give me more chicken!!!
Anything else you’d like to share:
Bella is very vocal. She doesn’t like to be picked up, but she is so cuddly we usually do it anyway and, even though she “meows” a lot, she gives in for a few minutes. However, she will sit on your lap, if SHE wants to! She even does fairly decent with her bath, which she gets about every week or two. There is a lot of “meowing”, but she stays in the tub. She doesn’t like her nails clipped as she has all her claws, but she is getting better at it as she gets older. She may be a feisty cat, but we love her and don’t know what we would do without her!!!
