The VOHC Seal of Approval

Before we get started, it’s important to stress that all pet dental products are not created equally.

Pet owners should look for the VOHC seal of approval when selecting a dental product. Studies prove a statistically significant benefit for pets that are given VOHC approved products when compared to pets that did not receive the product.

The Veterinary Oral Health Council has very strict requirements, so it ensures that the product is safe and does what it says it does. The VOHC seal is endorsed by the top reputable veterinary industry organizations, including: The American Veterinary Dental College, the American Animal Hospital Association, the Foundation for Veterinary Dentistry, and more.

In other words, it’s kind of a big deal!

Instead of just linking you to our online store (yes, we have a store!), a few of our team members wanted to highlight their favorite dental product, so here you go:

Certified Vet Tech (CVT)

I love to use T/D food as treats!  I love it especially for cats because they have to crunch it and it cleans all the way up to the gum line like a tooth brush and they usually love it. It’s coated with a palatable layer to entice them to eat it. My cats certainly don’t let me brush their teeth, but they love treats!

AMBER
Certified Vet Tech (CVT)

I use these OraVet chews for my dogs over the “greenies.” OraVet has an ingredient used in human dental rinses (often used in end of life care patients who are unable to brush) that coats the teeth to help fight bacteria. 

MEAGEN
Certified Vet Tech (CVT)

This dental powder is great for both cats and dogs who are less willing to eat treats, or who forget to chew before they swallow!
