Most pet owners don’t realize that veterinary medicine is not regulated the way human medicine is. There are only basic recommended protocols, and even these are not monitored or enforced by a governing organization.
We think pets deserve better.
Over thirty years ago, The Janesville Veterinary Clinic made a decision: we’re going to hold ourselves to a higher standard. That’s when we ELECTED to jump through all the hoops to become accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA).
AAHA is the only organization that accredits veterinary practices in the United States and Canada. We are routinely evaluated on nearly 50 mandatory standards of care, relating to pain management, anesthetics, dental care, medical records, critical care, and much more.

Think of it like a triathlon.
You choose to undergo rigorous training because you want to be the very best you can be (even though others might think you’re a bit insane) You want to be pushed and held accountable. Yes, practicing veterinary care on a daily basis can be like an endurance sport!
The stakes are high, and we insist on a stand-out performance with every patient, every time.
The next time you visit The Janesville Veterinary Clinic, you’ll probably be more apt to notice signs, flags, plaques, and brochures with the red-and-white AAHA logo.
We’re proud to have earned this distinction and to continue qualifying for it year after year, and we’re not afraid to flaunt it! It’s a symbol of our commitment to excellence.
